Tony Lynch first opened the doors of Lynch & Company in Horsell High Street in 1995. Horsell is a vibrant village, the centre of which lies just over a mile to the North West of Woking town centre, and offers a good range of shops for everyday needs including a supermarket, butcher, baker, general store, off-licence and newsagents, as well as a range of take-aways and a recently opened Chinese restaurant. Add to this the haberdashers, glaziers and fancy-dress shop and it provides an eclectic mix of services. There are a number of good pubs serving excellent food. Oh, and there are also two estate agents in the village! Architecturally, at first glance, Horsell may not appear to be one of Surrey's prettiest villages, but it is easy to see why it has become one the most popular places to live in the Woking Borough. Its accessibility to Woking train station and town centre makes it hugely sought after from the commuter's point of view, with a large number of properties in the village being within an approximate 20 minute walk away.

Horsell also attracts many families with parents who are keen for their children to attend the area's schools. Horsell offers state, first, middle and secondary schools with good reputations that have excellent Ofsted reports. There are also a number of highly regarded private schools for all ages. It is very easy to escape into the countryside from here. Horsell Common, made famous by HG Wells’s martian invasion, offers approximately 830 acres of heath and woodland, perfect for walkers (particularly those with dogs) and wildlife enthusiasts. Many of the houses in the village back or front onto the common and there are also a number of properties in the middle of the common itself. In addition to the common is a recreation ground with tennis courts and children's play facilities, and Horsell Moor – an open green, again with play facilities. There is a tremendous range of properties within Horsell incorporating every period of house build from historic cottages and manor houses (including approximately ten Grade II listed buildings and many locally listed houses) through to modern-day developments. 1 bedroom apartments start at around £160,000, 2 bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses from £250,000, 3 Bedroom semis from £300,000, 3 bedroom detached from £350,000, 4 bedroom detached from £400,000 going upwards. |
